Friday Night Lights Notebook

Even an hour rain delay couldn't dampen the excitement felt in the Swamp on Friday night as some of the top prospects in the nation showed up at the University of Florida to participate in the Gators final camp session of the summer - the amply named Friday Night Lights.

The evening started off on a down note with roughly an hour rain delay thirty minutes into the scheduled event. While the participants went inside the weight room, the rest of us were left out to watch highlights from the 2005 season on the big board.

After the rain passed, Florida players started entering the Swamp in large numbers including what looked to be almost the entire previous signing class. Quite a few upperclassmen showed up as well. From Chris Leak and Dallas Baker to Reggie Lewis and Brandon Siler, offense and defense were well represented by the veterans.

Speaking of veterans, former NFL All Pro Chris Carter was on the field mingling with the players.
