Decatur's McClain a very popular prospect

Decatur, Ala., linebacker Rolando McClain is one of the top overall prospects in the state in the 2007 class.

So it wasn't a surprise when numerous college coaches made a stop in north Alabama during the spring to check on the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder.

"There were quite a few coaches up here," said McClain, who at his size sports a 4.68 40-yard dash. "LSU, Auburn, Alabama, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Tennessee are some of the ones I remember."

The largest entourage came from Auburn as the Tigers sent a handful of coaches including head coach Tommy Tuberville, defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, recruiting/defensive line coach Don Dunn and linebacker coach James Willis.
