UCLA in for Super Freak

Every once in awhile an absolute freak comes around and oohs and ahs college coaches and recruitneks alike, this season there is one such super freak. The good news for UCLA fans is this very special player has the Bruins as one of his top three schools in the early going. He already has 13 offers on the table.

This super freak's name is Everson Griffen (6-4, 264, 4.63) from Avondale (Ariz.) Agua Fria. Believe it or not super freak is a standout at both defensive end and fullback.

As a junior, Griffen led his team in rushing with 794 yards and scored eight rushing touchdowns. He also had 12 receptions for 188 yards and one touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball, Griffen racked up 47 tackles, five sacks and three recovered fumbles while attracting a lot of attention from opposing offenses.

Though it may be tempting to let Griffen tote the football on the D-I level, he is being recruited as a defensive end.

Griffen earned first-team all-region as a junior.

At a recent combine, Griffen weighed in at 266-pounds and ran a 4.46. Folks that's smoking for anyone, and when you are Griffen's size you are in super freak status. That's where Griffen now stands.
