Bryant has LSU in top-five

The 2007 recruiting year could be a big one for LSU linebackers coach and special teams coordinator Bradley Dale Peveto as his East Texas recruiting territory appears to have significantly more talent than last year. One prospect that Peveto is in hot pursuit of is wide receiver Dez Bryant of Lufkin.

Since the spring evaluation period began last month, coaches have been sure to stop by Lufkin High.

"It's been going well. So far, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas A&M, LSU and some others," Bryant said.

Bryant stands at 6-foot-1, 198 pounds and runs a 4.54 in the 40-yard dash. He finished his junior season with 48 receptions for 1,025 yards and 16 touchdowns.
