Heyward reports on visit to Pitt
Defensive lineman Cameron Heyward (6-7, 270) from Peachtree Ridge High School in the Atlanta area told the Pantherlair, "I was in Pittsburgh last Thursday and Friday for a visit to Pitt. I was in Pittsburgh last summer to visit some relatives and we stopped by Pitt but this was really my first real chance to take a good look at their facilities. I really liked their indoor practice field. Everything is extremely nice and it looks like they take good care of the place. I like that they share the facilities with the Pittsburgh Steelers. I did not get to see Heinz Field. Most of my time was spent over at their practice facility"
Heyward went on to say, " I got to send some time with Coach Wannstedt, Coach Gattuso, Coach Junko and Coach Partridge. Coach Wannstedt said he might be down to visit me at my high school in the next few weeks." (Editor's note: Next week begins an Evaluation Period when college coaches will begin visiting high schools around the country).
We asked Heyward if now that he had a chance to look a little closer at Pitt if they were still one of the schools he was considering and he replied, "Most definitely." Heyward currently lists his leaders as Pitt, Georgia, Auburn and Mississippi State.
