Warfield makes official visit

Ohio safety Solomon Warfield, who committed to Iowa back in June, had a chance to return to the Hawkeye State this weekend for his official visit. We caught up with the 6-foot, 185-pound Warfield on Sunday to talk about the trip, his future with the Hawkeyes, and one of his high school teammates that has recently picked up some interest from Iowa. See what he had to say right here.

Q: What was your overall impression of the official visit this weekend?

WARFIELD: It was real fun. We got to hang out with the players and talk to the coaches a lot. Basically, it just reassured everything that I liked about it in the first place.

Q: What were some of the things you got to do this time that maybe you hadn't before?

WARFIELD: Just spend time with the players mostly. That gave me a chance to see their perspective on things and how it was their first year and everything. I got to ask them a lot of questions, so that really helped me out.

Q: Who were your hosts for the weekend?

WARFIELD: Anthony Hitchens and Chris Kirksey the first night and then the second night we had Reese Fleming and Ruben Lile.

As a senior, Warfield was named first team all-state in Ohio after racking up 70 tackles, two interceptions, and a forced fumble for St. Edward, who finished with an 11-1 record.

In June, the three-star prospect committed to Iowa over scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia, among others.
