Hammond to meet new MSU WR coach

There has been plenty of uncertainty concerning the future of Mississippi State's wide receivers over the past few weeks.

Not only have the Bulldogs lost wideouts coach Angelo Mirando but three-star DeAndre Woods decommitted soon after. New receivers coach Tim Brewster was unable to contact recruits until the end of the dead period but reached out commitment B.J. Hammond earlier this week and the two will meet in person for the first time this weekend.

"I talked to Tim Brewster (Monday) night," Hammond said. "We had a real long conversation and were just trying to see what we liked about each other. We'll see how it is on Saturday. I really liked him and his knowledge. He sounds like he really knows what he's talking about. Me and all the rest of the coaches at Mississippi State are good. I just didn't know the man and now I know a little bit about him and we hit on some things. I think I'm going to like this coach but I want to see him in person this Saturday versus Auburn."

Hammond, a three-star recruit in his own right, committed to MSU in early June over offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Murray State, Ole Miss, Purdue, Southern Miss, Tennessee Tech and UAB.
