Monday Morning QB: Auburn 52 ASU 26

Auburn 52 Arkansas State 26's Monday Morning Quarterback returns for another year. Each Monday several former Auburn players will give their thoughts and opinions on the Tigers' most recent game.


Former Auburn quarterback Ben Leard:
On Cameron Newton's performance against Arkansas State (9-of-14, 186 yards, 3 TDs, 15 carries, 171 yards rushing, 2 TDs)…

"At first glance, he lived up to his expectations. I think he did a tremendous job throwing the football and running the football. It looked as if he made good decisions. I never really saw him force a play, and that's something you can't teach. You just have to have a feel for that and it looks like he has that. He has the 'it' factor. He's a kid that looks as if everybody follows his lead. The players look to him in tough situations. On the drive where Kodi (Burns) ended up scoring over the right side, there was a third-and-16- play where Cameron scrambled for a first down. That is a big play, and he made several of them throughout the game. They are going to have to rely on Cameron to make big plays when they need to on down the stretch...
