Nose Guard Verbals Wyoming Football

Wyoming will graduate four defensive linemen after this season and Head Coach Dave Christensen staff has made the D-line a priority for signing day 2010.

The Cowboys picked up their fourth commitment at the position when noseguard Billy Vavau verballed this week. He had recently visited the UW campus and came way liking the possibility of fitting into their future plans.

The 6-foot-3 and 295 pound interior linemen is the tenth player to commit to the Cowboys for the 2010 class. He is a standout player for Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah.

Vavau was not listed by Rivals.com but the Cowboys see his solid footwork playing on the offensive side of the ball transitioning well over to defense.

The Pokes received summer commitments from DE Sonny Puletasi of Lawton, Oklahoma, DE Tyler Strong of Niwot, Colorado, and DE Riley Lange of Parker, Colorado to help shore up the future of the defensive side of the line.

Vavau plays both interior offensive and defensive line for Jordan High School.

His strengths standing out to college recruiters was his frame and ability to move well for his size.
