UA vs. ASU: Keys to a victory

If conference play has taught us anything, it is that there are really no easy games in the Pac-10. Arizona has not been playing well and the team will need to focus on certain things if it is going to be successful against Arizona State.

  • The Sun Devils may not have a lot of talent, but there is certainly some good individual players. One of those players is Jeff Pendergraph, who is leading the team in both points and rebounds. Pendergraph has only shot under 50 percent twice in conference play and has been impressive on the glass as well.

    The key here is limiting his touches and getting him into foul trouble. Pendergraph has had four fouls or more in five of his eight conference games and if Arizona can be aggressive in the paint, there is no reason those numbers can not be repeated. The more careful he has to be on defense and the less he plays, the better chances Arizona has of winning.
