8 days that changed the 06-07 season

Turn your mental calendar back just a few short weeks ago, and the immediate future of Duke basketball was looking rather uncertain.

No other college basketball programs were feeling sorry for Duke. After all, the Blue Devils still had a high level recruiting class coming in. And, even though Duke was losing a stellar senior class, Coach K still would welcome back his starting point guard as well as DeMarcus Nelson and David McClure, plus a pair of talented, albeit unproven sophomores in Martynas Pocius and Jamal Boykin.

But there was no doubting the fortunes for next season were in the hands of two men, Josh McRoberts and Lance Thomas.
