Solid linebackers

Arkansas' linebacker corps has been solid this spring, especially the starters, and it is due to a full year in the system, maturity and overall physical development.


Arkansas' defense was young last season, and it did not help that it was learning a new scheme under defensive coordinator Reggie Herring. However, by midseason the defense started to turn things around. Starting with the seventh game of the season, the Razorbacks gave up just 217 yards to Georgia, 187 yards to South Carolina, 326 yards to Ole Miss, 183 yards to Mississippi State and 302 yards to LSU. All but the Mississippi schools were ranked.


"I'm real determined this spring just to get better and work on my craft," Sam Olajubutu, the starter at weak-side linebacker, said, "I think part of it is I'm more comfortable in the defensive scheme, and we all know what coach Herring wants out of us everyday."
