Davis makes plays

Pittsburgh (PA) Penn Hills outside linebacker Myles Davis joined John Kinder as a new Orange commitment after the Syracuse spring game back in April. Now a few months have passed and his season has started.

How is everything going for Davis?

"It is going alright we just started conference play, we are 1-1 in conference play. Our first four games did not go the way we thought, but everything is looking up now and I think we are tied for second place in the conference."

Davis, 6-foot-0, 214 pounds is having a solid season himself.

"Individually my season is going pretty well. There have not been too many mistakes made and I have been playing both sides of the ball. I think I am doing pretty well. I would like to say I have around 40 or 50 tackles, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and an interception."

His high school team is improving game by game, but what does he think of his future team?

"The defense is rolling they are very active out there with Coach Shafer's defense. I think if the offense gets it together they will be a complete team because the defense has been looking great."

While watching the Syracuse games on TV the Keystone State product stays focused on his future linebacker position.

"I watch the game from a linebacker's standpoint and what are the reads they make, what are their drops like, and what kind of blitzing do they do. I watch it from the linebacker perspective."

After watching the Orange linebackers make plays Davis likes what he sees and he is even more encouraged after a recent talk with linebackers coach Dan Conley.

"I think they are real good. They fly to the ball a lot. That is what Coach Conley talked to me about on the phone a couple weeks ago. He just said to fly to the ball because that is what Syracuse linebackers do. I can definitely see that by the way they play."

The three star prospect has not been in touch with any of the other Syracuse commitments. He does want to get in touch with one of the other Orange commits that lives near him.

"I have not talked with any other commitments. I have been trying to get in touch with Dom Timbers because we play them October 30th. I want to talk to him before that game and let him know what is coming," Davis said with a laugh.

During the start of the season Davis was up in Syracuse for the first couple of practices and plans to get back in the coming months.

"I think I am going on my official visit the first week in December or the next couple weeks in December."
