There isn't another very good team that would being a big TV audience by themselves that would join the Big 12. I hope that Dodds is just laying low and and trying to soothe the rest of hte Big 12. If the Aggies bolt, we need to join OU and find a new conference whether a current one or a new one. I fankly wish that it was us leaving the Big and the Aggies for the SEC."

Hate to tell you, but if you don't have confidence in Deloss Dodds, it isn't because he's not worthy of the confidence...it's because you're either ignorant of the facts or worse. As someone stated, Deloss is...and has been way ahead of the aggies for years.

Deloss is saying the right things for political reasons...ie wanting to hold the conference together. There's one reason that Texas isn't already part of the Pac 16 and tamu in the SEC and it has nothing to do with(nor did it ever have to do with) the LHN and the 3rd tier media rights. That reason is the Texas Legislature. If you recall the Texas BOR was meeting on a Tuesday to give their approval to the PAC 16 when, late the week before, the legislator in charge of the committee that parcels out funds to state universities made the statement that it wouldn't be a good idea for conference realignment to be approved before his committee had an opportunity to review the situation. He addressed his remark to the Presidents of Texas and the gomers. Everything stopped...no more discussion with the Pac whatever and no more SEC talk for the aggies. Texas was seen, at the time, as the driving force that was going to break up the big 12...not the aggies. If the aggies bolt to the sec then Texas is off the hook and becomes the darling of the legislators.

The Texas legislature controls more funds to the University than any conference affiliation can make up...you don't ignore the guys that write those kind of checks.

Anyone telling you that the Big 12 was held together by anyone other than the Texas legislature is telling you they don't know shit, but want you to believe they do. Deloss knows what he's doing in relation to Texas A&M and the Big 12 and he is the straw that stirs the drink.

It is ordinarily not a smart thing, from a public relations standpoint (unless the audience you're playing to is made up of idiots) to second-guess someone that is successful doing something of which you have no knowledge and experience. It is a real stupid shit idea to second-guess the #1 guy in his field who possesses all of the facts that you simply don't have access to.

He's light years ahead of where you and the aggies are.
