Pros: Mix is the classic 'tweener receiver/tight end prospect with the athleticism to fill a few roles in the NFL. He outgrew the wide receiver position, though he still can line up there and be a productive performer. For a player of his size he moves well and has timed in the 4.45 range. He is best suited for the H-back role. He has excellent hands and uses his massive frame well to outmuscle smaller cover men. At the Senior Bowl, he had a good week and has risen up the charts after a strong effort there. He showed the ability to get into his routes easily and the sense of route running that surprised scouts. He helped his cause with overall athleticism. Cons: His footwork needs to improve in order for him to create separation. He gathers at the breakpoint of his cut, which allows cover men to close on the ball. He needs development in defense recognition and ability to adjust to the deep pass. Numbers: As a senior he had 23 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns. At the NFL Combine he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.49 seconds with a 31½" vertical jump and a 9'3" broad jump. Skinny: He is remarkably similar to the Saints' Boo Williams who was a wideout/TE tweener. His strong performance in the postseason suggests that his learning curve could be fast. His athleticism and versatility will warrant a second day draft pick.
