BOISE, Idaho - Boise State redshirt senior quarterback Kellen Moore was named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year, highlighting a group of 12 Broncos named to All-Mountain West Teams, the league announced Tuesday.
Moore was one of seven Broncos named first-team All-Mountain West, tied with San Diego State for the most first-team selections amongst the league schools.
Redshirt senior left tackle Nate Potter was one of only two unanimous first-team all-conference selections. In addition to Moore and Potter, redshirt senior running back Doug Martin and redshirt senior wide receiver Tyler Shoemaker were also named to the offensive first team.
Redshirt senior defensive tackle Billy Winn was named second-team all-conference, and senior defensive tackle Chase Baker, redshirt senior tight end Kyle Efaw, redshirt senior punter Brad Elkin and senior linebacker Byron Hout each garnered honorable mention accolades.
Moore completed 300-of-405 passes for 3,507 yards and 41 touchdowns during the regular season, setting Boise State single-season records in both completions and touchdowns. The touchdown mark is also a Mountain West record, and his completion percentage (.741) is the highest in program history. Moore ranks first in the MW and fourth-nationally in pass efficiency (176.8), and also leads the conference in passing yards per game (292.2) and total offense (286.8).
Potter is the leader of an offensive line that ranks tied for first-nationally in sacks allowed (0.67 per game), while Shoemaker set Boise State's single-season touchdown reception record this season with 15. Martin eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing for the second-straight season, and his 1,148 yards in 2011 are the ninth-most in school history. Martin's 17 rushing touchdowns this season are the third-most all-time.
Defensively, the Broncos' entire starting defensive line unit garnered recognition. Crawford led the team with 13.5 TFLs and 6.5 sacks, while McClellin's 46 tackles were tied for the third-most on the team, and his 9.5 tackles-for-loss and 6.0 sacks each ranked second. Winn ranked third on the team in TFLs (6.0), and Baker recorded 20 tackles - including 2.5 for-loss - and recorded an interception and a blocked kick.
Iloka finished the regular season ranked second on the team in tackles (57), while Hout led the Broncos with 65 stops.
Efaw caught a career-high six touchdowns this season, tied for the eighth-most at his position nationally. His 13-career touchdown receptions are tied for the sixth-most amongst active tight ends.
Elkin has placed 23 punts inside the 20-yard line this season, tied for the 14th-most in the country.
Boise State will play Arizona State of the Pacific-12 Conference in MAACO Bowl Las Vegas, Dec. 22. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MT) at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev., and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
