Last Friday night the RivalsHigh 100 No. 23 team, Monroe (Louisiana) West Monroe Rebels, cruised to a 51-9 win over Shreveport (La.) Byrd.
In the victory Rebels coach Don Shows notched career victory No. 300.
"It's quite a special accomplishment and I'm very proud of it," Shows told the Shreveport Times. "But it's taken a lot of great players and great coaches along the way. I think there have only been about five other men in Louisiana high school football history that have achieved that mark, several that I admire greatly, and I've been very fortunate to have gotten to that level."
Shows, and West Monroe, are no strangers to success as the Rebels won the state title in 1993, 96, 97, 98, 2000, and 2005 as well as laid claim to national titles in 1998 and 2000.
