Milstead, Austin adjusting to Ballou
North Carolina verbal commitment Lamar Milstead is making the most of his opportunity at Washington (D.C.) Ballou this fall, where he transferred along with several of his former teammates, from Coolidge High School.
Despite a nagging injury, which has kept him off the field in recent days, Milstead is preparing well for his eventual arrival in Chapel Hill.
Moses Ware, the head football coach at Ballou, spoke with Carolina Blue about Milstead and Marvin Austin, two of his better players, and a pair of elite college football prospects.
Ballou opened its regular season last week in West Virginia, where the team struggled in a 21-6 defeat.
For Austin, the college football options are plentiful. He has narrowed his choices to 10. The list includes Florida State, Miami, USC, Maryland, Illinois, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and N.C. State.
Milstead, and another UNC commit, former Ballou star LeCount Fantroy, have been in Austin's ear about the Tar Heels.
