Vols Wrap Up Practice, Prepare For Home Stand
Tennessee's game against Ohio is the beginning of a three game stretch of home games that could provide the Vols with an opportunity to change the course of the season after a 1-2 start. First year head coach Lane Kiffin is far from blind to the possible advantages of running off three straight victories at this stage of the game, but he's also being careful to make sure his team isn't looking at the upcoming stretch as a 'do-or-die' proposition.
Even more than advocating the time-honored philosophy of one-game at a time beloved by coaches everywhere, Kiffin made it a point to emphasize on Thursday that he doesn't see any scenarios on the schedule this fall that constitute a 'make-or-break' situation.
"There's no make or break in the first year. We've got a long ways to go," Kiffin said, taking the long view. "A lot of work to do, a lot of stuff to figure out, a lot of young guys to play and a lot of competition to sort through.
