EAST LANSING - The topic of conversation surrounding the Michigan State football program on Tuesday was the announcement by third-year Spartan head coach Mark Dantonio to start on offense with the Kirk Cousins under center over Keith Nichol, who had been running neck-and-neck with the former Holland Christian star during training camp.
After Dantonio's announcement earlier in the day, SpartanMag.com and the rest of the press corps covering Michigan State had an opportunity to watch both quarterbacks at the beginning of Monday's practice before interviewing Cousins and Nichol after practice.
Following interviews, SpartanMag.com staffers Jim Comparoni and Paul Konyndyk broke down all of the day's events during their latest V-Cast from the practice field outside the Duffy Daugherty Football Building.
Comparoni and Konyndyk give their initial reactions the Dantonio's decision to start with Cousins over Nichol as well as their thoughts on other depth-chart developments that might have been overshadowed by the news surrounding Michigan State's ongoing quarterback derby.
