Freshman hoping to make impact
Philip Pierre-Louis can be easy to miss.
The Auburn freshman stands just 5-feet-8 and weighs 156 pounds. Plus, he's usually moving very, very fast.
Still, the speedster hasn't escaped the attention of Auburn's coaches. His speed and quickness have dropped jaws at three different positions and may have earned him playing time as a true freshman this season.
On offense, Pierre-Louis is practicing mostly at the "X" position, behind senior James Swinton and sophomore Chris Slaughter. He's made some plays in two-a-days, including an 80-yard catch-and-run touchdown that was called back by a penalty in Auburn's first scrimmage.
His potential on offense is obvious, but it's on special teams that he really has a chance to make an impact.
Special teams coordinator Eddie Gran has given Pierre-Louis plenty of chances as a punt and kickoff returner, and the freshman hasn't disappointed.
