OVERVIEW Vanderbilt returns home from the road after a victorious trip to Toledo, where the Commodores raced out to an early 18-0 lead and came away with a 77-70 win over the Rockets at Savage Hall.
Vanderbilt shot 58.3% (28-48) from the floor for the game, including 66.7% (14-21) in the second half, and had 19 assists on 28 made baskets.
Senior wing man Shan Foster scored a team-high 21 points and was the team's leading rebounder with eight on the night to lead VU. Foster was tabbed as the SEC Player of the Week, the first player of the week honor in his four-year career.
Freshman A.J. Ogilvy also tallied 20 points on nine-of-12 shooting from the floor and added two blocks for the Commodores in the winning effort.
