Bowling Green presents new set of challenges

KentStateReport.com Saturday's Mid-American Conference East Division match up at Dix Stadium between Kent State and visiting Bowling Green figures to be a clash of contrasting styles.
While the Golden Flashes (3-4 overall, 1-2 MAC) lead the league in rushing with an average of 220.6 yards per game, the Falcons (3-3, 1-1) are tops in the conference in passing offense, gaining 327.8 yards per contest through the air.
"They've really sold into the passing game," Kent State head coach Doug Martin said about the Falcons. "It's four wide receivers; sometimes it's five wide receivers. Quite a bit of the time it's no backs in the backfield."
Martin expects Bowling Green to operate out of the shotgun formation on almost every down.
