King: I'm redshirting right now
When running back Thomas Brown went down in the Tennessee game with a broken clavicle, the thoughts of many Georgia fans immediately turned to a freshman who has yet to touch the football - Caleb King.
With Brown gone, would Georgia coach Mark Richt elect to play the heralded youngster, although the season is officially at the halfway mark?
King told UGASports.com the answer to that during a brief interview following practice Monday afternoon.
"I'm redshirting right now," King said. "The only question is do they (coaches) decide to take it off."
Barring any more injuries to the Bulldogs' backfield, that apparently won't happen.
Although Georgia likely won't have Brown until the regular-season finale against Georgia Tech, the fact that Kregg Lumpkin (thumb) is back and able to play means King will likely stay on the sideline for this year.
