Groves, Cox ready to rumble
A lot of freshmen will be playing key roles for Auburn when it opens the 2007 season Saturday night under the lights of Jordan-Hare Stadium but it will be two seniors, quarterback Brandon Cox and defensive end Quentin Groves, that the Tigers will be leaning on to lead them to victory.
"It's our job to get these guys prepared and show them what to expect," said Cox. "The young guys on this team are very talented. They seem older than they are.
"I know they're excited to go out there and play and I'm excited to see them play."
Auburn is slated to start two freshmen on the offensive line in Mike Berry and Lee Ziemba, and the tailback position may be turned over to sophomore Ben Tate and redshirt freshmen Mario Fannin if Brad Lester isn't cleared to play.
But it's on defense that the real youth movement is taking place.
