More experience, talent for Fowler to evaluate
Ever since Bruce Fowler has been Vanderbilt's defensive coordinator, he's gone to fall camp knowing he had to count on true freshmen for help. While Fowler will certainly welcome help from newcomers this fall, it's not as much a pressing necessity as it's been in years past.
For starters, Fowler has more talent and experience on the defensive line than he's had. Behind his front four, he'll have an All-American (middle linebacker Jonathan Goff) and a quality second-year starter in Marcus Buggs. Behind that duo waits Reshard Langford, one of the most talented safeties in program history.
