A-Day draws record crowd
Playing before what is believed to be the largest crowd for a spring game in the history of the Southeastern Conference, and possibly the nation, the Alabama Crimson Tide capped off its first spring practice under head coach Nick Saban with the White team triumphing over the Crimson team 20-13.
The crowd, reported to be in excess of 92,138, filled Bryant-Denny Stadium to beyond capacity, forcing officials to shut the stadium gates midway through the second quarter. Saban said he was pleased with the turnout and believes the fan support shown Saturday is evidence of the positive potential of the Tide program.
