The Big Cat Speaks - Gone Fishin'
In the category of what was most important for the Cougar football team returning off a disappointing 6-6 season in which they fell one game shy of a bowl game berth, the most relevant answer was team morale. Namely, and more precisely, improving said team morale. Toward that end, head football coach Bill Doba elected, as one of the many significant changes this spring practice session, to move scrimmages to Fridays instead of the traditional Saturdays so that team members could have the weekend to enjoy themselves and - Doba quips - he could go fishing.
"It seemed to pick up the morale a little bit," said Doba, of the schedule change.
