Will McMahon cross the line?
When the pre-spring depth chart is released later this week, Florida State fans will see a new addition at the center position.
Ryan McMahon, who redshirted this past season when he was playing
defensive tackle, made the move to offensive line at the start of mat
drills. A 6-foot-2, 275-pound freshman, McMahon will compete with senior John Frady and junior Dumaka Atkins at the center position this spring.
"At the start of mat drills, I was talking to Coach Odell and Coach Trickett about it," McMahon said. "We were talking about the offensive line and defensive line and we all thought it would be best if I
played offensive line.
"Winning is the most important thing so I'll do whatever I can to help out."
McMahon's switch is the third major position move of the off-season.
Previously, former tight end Caz Piurowski moved to tackle and former
defensive end D.J. Norris moved to tight end. McMahon said he made his
decision because he thought he'd be a good fit in new offensive line
coach Rick Trickett's system.
