One week until spring camp
When the Georgia football team starts practice on Monday, March 5th, it will be the first taste of being a Bulldog for the seven mid-year enrollees who joined the team in January. "I am very excited about spring," said junior college transfer Scott Haverkamp. "First of all because it means that mat drills are over and secondly I really want to get out there to see how I stack up against other people."
Haverkamp, who is one of five newcomers on the offensive line, has wasted no time in gelling with his new teammates, and, along with fellow offensive lineman junior college transfer Vince Vance, is thrilled to be in Athens.
"I can tell that everyone around this city is really excited about this program," said Haverkamp, 6-foot-4, 310-pounds, who transferred from Butler Community College in Dodge City, Kan. "They give the team a lot of support, and it has been going really well."
