Is there enough Crabtree to go around?
Immediately after learning of the commitment of Dallas, Texas standout Michael Crabtree to Texas Tech in mid-January, many Red Raider fans raised a question: will the dual-sport athlete suit up for Bob Knight in the offseason?
He would certainly not be the first; tight end Joey Hawkins parlayed his toughness and determination into a contributing role on 2004-05's Sweet Sixteen team but he didn't start dabbling in basketball until his last year of eligibility. Is there enough Crabtree to go around? Will he compete on the gridiron and the hardcourt?
Fortunately for Crabtree, he already has some idea of what would be expected of him as a member of the basketball team.
While he has an excellent source of information and advice in former summer league teammate and current Red Raider Michael Prince, Crabtree also has available to him a somewhat untraditional resource.
