Seniors ready for next step
It wasn't the ending that either Geno Smith or Tavon Austin wanted to their historic careers, but shortly after West Virginia's 38-14 loss to Syracuse neither player really had let the thought sink in that they had just played their final game in a Mountaineers uniform.
"It will probably hit me in the next couple days," Austin said.
Both players believe that there were opportunities left on the field as Austin said the Mountaineers were close to springing the big play on a number of occasions, while Smith wanted another crack or two.
