Mullen talking Razorbacks
Dan Mullen has yet to beat Arkansas during his tenure at Mississippi State.
But he came pretty darn close last year as the Bulldogs lost in double overtime as Vick Ballard fumbled at the goal line on first-and-goal stretching for the end zone.
Mullen hopes the third game will be the charm as MSU travels back to Little Rock where they lost 42-21 in Mullen's first season.
The first two meetings during the Mullen era were against talented Razorback quarterback Ryan Mallett. Now the Bulldogs have to contend against junior Tyler Wilson behind center who has completed 61.7-percent of his passes this year for 2,850 yards, 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions.
"I haven't seen a whole lot of difference with them," Mullen said. "Wilson knows the system. He stepped in last year and did a great job for them when they needed him to. He's a guy that's done things the right way in his career. He's learned the system and waited his time and when he got his opportunity he seized it. I have a lot of respect for guys that understand development within your program and he obviously understands that and is succeeding because of it."
Arkansas offense with Wilson at the helm currently leads the league averaging 455.7 yards and 38.8 points per game.
The Hogs feature five receivers with 20 or more catches this season with Jarius Wright leading the way with 53 catches for 906 yards and 10 scores.
