Bruins second season begins
Another road game, another tough opponent, another loss, but this one close, very close, and perhaps signs of life appearing in this young Bruins team.
The Pac 10 pretty much shook itself out on Saturday. There's Oregon, then pretty much there's everybody else. I thought the Ducks would win this one, at home, just as I thought they would lose their opener at Boise State - home team's whole season on the line, very tough to play them there in that situation. But I did not, think they'd prove that much better than USC.
Washington State holds the "distinction" of being the worst team in the conference. USC, Cal and Arizona seem to be the group after Oregon. Stanford stands smack dab in the middle. And then there's the other four - Washington, Washington State, Arizona State and UCLA.
