Hawaii Bowl: Nevada vs. SMU

Nevada QB Colin Kaepernick doesn't throw much, but he can when needed. The Wolf Pack may need him to against SMU in the Hawaii Bowl on Thursday. That's because 1,000-yard rushers Vai Taua (academics) and Luke Lippincott (injury) will not play, giving SMU a fighting chance.  

Kuechly helps soften blow of Herzlich loss

While 2008 ACC defensive player of the year Mark Herzlich missed the 2009 season recovering from bone cancer, freshman Luke Kuechly helped fill the void at linebacker. Kuechly was second in the nation in tackles and helped Boston College reach Saturday's Emerald Bowl.
